Bulky Waste Services

Penforth residents can make use of the Councils Bulky Waste Collection services for large household items.

Furniture and electric appliances in good condition will be collected for reuse through Restore Community Project.

What counts as bulky waste?

Items such as furniture, carpets, bikes, floor coverings, televisions, cookers, fridges, washing machines and waste contained in sacks can all be taken. We do not take any trade, garden or building materials.

How does the collection work?

Items suitable for reuse

If you need to dispose of items which are in good condition and suitable to be reused(at least 50% of your items must be reusable) please contact Restore Community Projects.

Collections are made on Monday to Friday between 9.30am - 3.30pm and a small charge will be made to cover their collection costs.

Go to the Restore Community Projects website for more details.

Items not suitable for reuse

If you need to dispose of items which are not suitable for reuse please complete our online form to book your collection. Collections are made on Monday and Thursday between 8am and 4pm.

Collection crews are not permitted, under any circumstances, to enter a property so your items must be left in front of your door but not obstructing any passageway, or in the bulky waste collection area if your building has one.

Is there a fee for the collection?

There is a £27 charge for up to three items or ten standard bags but collections made from specific ground-floor collection points on City estates are free of charge. Contact your Estate Office for details of your collection points.

What if I have additional items?

Each collection is for up to three items or ten bags. If you want to have between four and six items collected there will be an additional £27 charge, totalling £54.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made using debit card or credit card.
